It is good to have a contemporary Rabbi teach us this stuff, and this recent book was a delight to read. He taught that God alone was the true king, and that people should love God and love each other as the scriptures told them to do. For free. As Christian churches started in different towns and countries, Paul wrote letters to them.

This is a very, very nice book. Historians often study the historical reliability of the Acts of the Apostles when studying the reliability of the gospels, as the Book of Who was Jesus? book was seemingly written by the same author as the Gospel of Luke. He is utterly orthodox and believes we should care — if not throw punches — about the divinity and humanity of Christ. A lengthy footnote at the end of the chapter defends the historical accuracy of the canonical gospels and their traditional attributions to Matthew the ApostleJohn MarkLuke the Evangelistand John the Apostle.

Little in the four canonical gospels is considered to be historically reliable. In the satirical comic, Jesus has a superhero roommate named Sunstar and learns what has become of his Gospel on earth. And he speaks of our calling — to go down the same path that all of us know Jesus walked. They told the Roman government that Jesus' followers wanted him to become the king of the country and take it over. The second man turns out to be Polish man who speaks in broken English. The scapegoat and the what Christ does as our high priest.

There were people selling things there, and money lenders who were cheating poor people. While there he was arrested, tried, and executed. He called himself the "Good Shepherd" who would even give his own life, to protect his sheep. He wants to prove to the reader that Jesus is God's way of saving humans from the terrible problem of sin or evil.

The four Gospels all tell the story of the Life of Jesus, but they do it from four different points of view, because they were written by different people and each writer had reasons to tell it in a different way. Not only did he launch a movement of followers that within a generation or two numbered in the hundreds of thousands, they changed the world.
